NICL AO Recruitment 2026: 321 Posts, Graduate Apply Online

The National Insurance Company Limited (NICL) has released the official notification for the recruitment of 321 Administrative Officers (AO) in Generalist and Specialist disciplines under Scale I. Eligible candidates can apply online for these officer-level positions.

The recruitment includes Generalist, Finance, Legal, Information Technology, Automobile Engineering, Risk Engineering, Company Secretary and Agriculture disciplines. The online application process starts on 8 October 2026, and the last date to apply is 28 October 2026.

Educational Qualification

• Generalist: Graduation or Post-Graduation in any discipline with at least 60% marks. For SC/ST/PwBD candidates, the minimum is 55%.
• Finance (CA & CMA): Chartered Accountant or Cost and Management Accountant qualification, along with a degree or postgraduate degree in any discipline with the prescribed minimum marks.
• Legal: Graduate or Post-Graduate degree in Law with at least 60% marks, or 55% for SC/ST/PwBD candidates.
• Information Technology: BE/B.Tech/ME/M.Tech in Computer Science or Information Technology, or MCA, with the prescribed minimum marks.
• Automobile Engineers: Relevant Automobile Engineering degree, or an engineering degree with a diploma of at least one year in Automobile Engineering.
• Risk Engineers: Engineering graduation or post-graduation in a discipline other than the specified IT and Automobile Engineering disciplines.
• Company Secretaries: ACS/FCS qualification from ICSI, along with graduation or post-graduation in any discipline.
• Agriculture: Four-year graduation or post-graduation in Agriculture, Agricultural Biotechnology or Agricultural Engineering.

Age Limit

Age will be calculated as of 1 October 2026.

• Minimum Age: 21 years
• Maximum Age: 30 years

Age Relaxation

• SC/ST: 5 years relaxation
• OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 years relaxation
• PwBD (General/EWS): 10 years relaxation
• PwBD (SC/ST): 15 years relaxation
• PwBD (OBC): 13 years relaxation

Other eligible categories may receive relaxation according to the official notification.

NICL AO Salary 2026

Selected candidates will receive a starting basic pay of ₹82,485 per month. The approximate total monthly emoluments at metropolitan centres are ₹1,14,000, along with applicable allowances and benefits.

Other benefits include pension under the New Pension Scheme, gratuity, medical benefits, leave travel subsidy and accommodation as per company rules.

Selection Process

The selection process consists of the following stages:

1. Preliminary Examination (Phase I)
2. Main Examination (Phase II)
3. Interview
4. Document Verification and Medical Fitness

Exam Pattern

Phase I – Preliminary Examination

Duration: 60 minutes, with separate timings for each section.

Phase II – Main Examination

• Objective Test: 250 marks
• Descriptive English Test: 30 marks
• Descriptive Test Duration: 30 minutes

The Generalist and Specialist examinations have different objective-test sections. Wrong answers in objective tests attract a penalty of one-fourth of the marks assigned to the question.

The final selection weightage is 80% for the Main Examination and 20% for the Interview.
